The long national comics nightmare is finally over. Miracleman #1 is on the stands and available for purchase. After a very lengthy legal nightmare (largely the fault of Todd McFarlane’s asshattery), the saga of Michael Moran as reimagined by Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman will get its full airing. Gaiman promises to finish what he started over 25 years ago.
The first issue, which reprints Moore’s first two stories in Warrior magazine, is as amazing as ever and brought back a flood of memories for me. My college years were spent anxiously awaiting each issue of Miracleman at my local comic shop at the University of Minnesota. I still liked all my old books like Amazing Spider Man and Fantastic Four but I was older and books like Miracleman, Swamp Thing, The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen had much appeal to me.
Of course, if you have never heard of this character, now is the perfect chance to jump on board and enjoy!
