It’s hard to believe that Cap is 75. I’ve always been more of a Spider Man guy but it’s hard to ignore just how awesome Captain America is…regardless of who is carrying the shield. My earliest memories of Cap are of the old Marvel Super Heroes cartoon that aired in 1966. I watched the reruns in the mid 70s when I ran home for lunch to catch it in syndication. I bought a few issues here and there of the series from Marvel but didn’t become an every month collector until I was in college.
Although a light week this week in terms of new releases, Sam Wilson, Captain America #7 more than makes up for it with an extra sized issue chock full o’ shield slinging action. All Caps past and present are represented in this ish and I enjoyed it a great deal. Nick Spencer has done a fine job as writer and Daniel Acuna’s art is sublimely magnificent.
