My pick o’ the week is Zachary Kaplan’s wonderful new book, Eclipse. Set in a world where a solar flare has rendered life in the daylight impossible (people burn up if they come into contact with the sun), this dystopic future has all of the essential elements of dark scifi. What happens when people have to wear suits and all themselves “Iceman” in order to move around above ground?
Cities beneath the streets of what looks to be a scorched New York City have cropped up as what remains of civilization tries to survive and make a go of it. But wait! There is someone lurking in the daylight (!) who can survive in sunlight. How is this possible?
Find it by picking up the first four issues, available now, of Eclipse!
