My pick this week is the latest Generations installment, Captain Marvel and Captain Mar-vell. Brent has quickly become one of my favorite artists at Marvel Comics. His Howling Commandos of Shield mini series from 2015 reminded me a great deal of the books I grew up with in the 1970s. His style is reminiscent of Herb Trimpe with several dashes of Jack Kirby thrown in.
Yet his own style is gorgeous as well. He draws comics the way they should be drawn. His pencils show a real insight into the history of comics and evoke a great deal of nostalgia for me. The photo at left shows the artist himself (right) after he signed my book.
Go pick it up!
