It seemed as though Mark Millar had finally put the character of Kick Ass to bed a few years ago. Dave Lizewski retired and Hit Girl went off on her own to be crazy and weird.
Yet, the character clear has some life in it still and now we have a new hero donning the green costume. Enter Patience Lee, an Afghan war veteran who wants to clean up the filthy streets from all the crime, bad guys and stuff. She’s a single mom turned modern day Robin Hood who wants to steal from the bad guys and give to the poor people who need the funds the most.
All the familiar plot lines are there as well as Millar’s masterful use of suspense and gore. This current issue picks right up from the cliffhanger ending to ish #3. I’m continually surprised by how engaged I am when I read this series. I’m always left wanting more.
