It took me a while to get through my stack this week due to ongoing summer commitments but I have to say that Wolverine and the X-Men #32 gets the hearty nod hands down. This book reminds me of old school Uncanny from the early 1980s and that amazing Claremont-Byrne run from over 30 years ago.
Jason Aaron, a writer I normally have lukewarm feelings about, does a great job of balancing the action with the zany. Nik Bradshaw’s artwork stylistically reflects this theme in a colossally vibrant way. It’s one of the few Marvel books that actually looks like a comic book and not some dark, Vertigo-esque emo piffle as far too many of them do these days.
If you haven’t started buying this book, you can jump in with the last two issues-The Hellfire Saga!
