The outrage and hysteria over Captain America #1 was so completely ridiculous that me and the lads from Hot Comics could hardly believe it. Death threats? Really? Jesus, folks, it’s a fucking comic book. The character of Captain America isn’t real. It’s not like Nick Spencer has attacked the United States or anything.
And all of this was after one issue, for pete’s sake. Wait until the rest of the story comes out which, by the looks of issue #2, is going to be a corker. My pick of the week delves into the Red Skull’s viewpoint on all of this and what exactly his hand has been in the lead up to Cap uttering those two, horrific words. Where all this is going becomes much clearer.
Jesus Saiz’s art is money on this one as is Spencer’s great story which has now taken a decidedly intriguing path. Check it out, folks!!
