One of the elements missing from the reboot of all of the DC titles two years ago was teen angst. Sure, there was Blue Beetle and the Teen Titans but the teen angst element took a back seat to larger than life story lines that went beyond the daily lives of the heroes.
Justin Jordan is attempting to get back to that in the latest story arc in Superboy and I love it. My pick this week is Superboy #22 which finds our hero having to go to high school in order to track down some H.I.V.E. operatives. It was truly enjoyable to watch Connor have to put up with social cliques and bloviating instructors.
We need to see more of these types of stories from DC. Not every plot line has to be galactic in proportion!
